shade. Pablo Neruda = Painting: "Impartial love" Tetsuya mishima Artist's Commentary

soneto XII cien sonetos de amor (1959) mañana
Plena mujer, manzana carnal, luna caliente,
Beso a beso recorro tu pequeño infinito,
Pablo Neruda

sonnet XII one hundred love sonnets (1959) tomorrow
Full woman, carnal apple, hot moon,
thick aroma of crushed seaweed, mud and light,
what dark clarity opens between your columns?
what old night man touches with his senses?
oh, love is a journey with water and with stars,
with choked air and sudden flurries of flour:
loving is a fight of lightning
and two bodies defeated by a single honey.
Kiss by kiss I go through your little infinity,
your banks, your rivers, your tiny towns,
and the genital fire transformed into delight
runs through the thin paths of blood
until rushing like a nocturnal carnation,
until being and not being but a ray in the shade.
Pablo Neruda
