2018 YEAR Three days ago I woke up unable to speak, with a sore throat and a dry cough. Quickly call a neighbor friend- I didn't want to disturb my family who live far away at 2 in the morning. We called the Cardiomovil to which I am affiliated - the times I have used it I noticed that no defibrillator has it - because they took me to the Maldonado Hospital, under the protection of ASSE, as if it were a simple taxi. It is unusual for me to say that I have 28 years of practicing medicine only in case of malpractice, I warn you that I am not a simple citizen of the lot who suffer abuse and wait up to 4 months for a specialist to see them. At that time I was the only patient waiting in an emergency and even my chest hurt . Finally, after a long time, my name was a very young doctor. I told him I had pharyngitis tracheo bronchitis. She looked at my throat and said only that she was red. Soon a nice nurse came - it seems that the only ones who taught her that the first thing to establish with a patient is empathy - the doctors do not know that term, I think - she gave me a glucotest-glycemia - who gave a soaring figure. They had to inject insulin 3 times in the abdomen and finally, as the sugar did not drop, they gave me intravenous insulin . An hour later, the Doctor came and repeated the glucotest: 199 mlosm, still high, but she told me that I was fine and that I could leave. -But how if I came because of a larythetracheobronchitis that can turn into pneumonia. And there the anger entered me. "I need a third-generation cephalosporin." The Doctor opened her eyes as if speaking to her in Chinese. He left and comes back with a recipe for amoxidal. "But this antibiotic goes with Clavulonic acid." She shrugged her shoulders like she was crazy. I grabbed the prescription and went to the Pharmacy where I discussed with the sleepy girl who was amoxidal with clavulonic acid. So I took out my doctor's card and showed it to him. He went back and argued with another asleep in front of the computer that seems to authorize the medication that I knew would not work for me because of the times I had taken it. I warned the neighbor, sitting outside because they had not let him in to see me - there are more security guards than professional staff as if it were an inmate Hospital. The next morning my wet cough started and I bought the right antibiotic from the pharmacy. I went to bed but family and friends started arriving. DR ORLANDO VICENTE ALVAREZ
