Oscar Washington TABÁREZ is currently 77 years old. He took over as coach of the Uruguayan national team in 2006 and was FIRED on November 19, 2021. That is, he spent 15 years as coach of the Celeste. In 15 years, a world record, he barely won a single title, which was the 2011 Copa América played in Argentina. Outside of that, in 15 years Tabárez won absolutely nothing.
They are DATA. In 15 years he played in the 2010, 2014, and 2018 world championships, where the team barely qualified, sometimes in repechages, and the performance in the world championships was very poor. In the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the TABÁREZ National Team came in fifth place and had to play in the international playoff where they barely qualified against Costa Rica.
The Copa América played in the United States in 2016 was a disaster, where the Uruguayan team was eliminated in the first round. Even losing to Venezuela in the group stage.
Tabárez's 15 years at the head of the national team are summarized in just ONE Copa América, nothing more. There are no other achievements, no other successes, nothing to celebrate. In 15 years only one title.
The famous "selection process" was a true fiasco, where in 15 years only one Copa América was won in a final against Paraguay.SEMANARIO EL INFORMANTE
