WHITNEY HOUSTON / First Part /
It is difficult to summarize in this blog the wealth and short, but brilliant career of Whitney Houston. So I'll make some personal appreciations about this American singer and actress.
She was born in New Jersey in August 1963. From a family of female singers like his mother, her cousin Dianne Waorky and as godmother Aretha Franklin.
At the beginning of the eighties her face appeared in magazines and her first album was released. Someone from the record company said that her appearance was "very ethnic" because she had not hair, they did not value her vocal quality. From then, she wore wigs of all colors and appeared beautiful and spectacular with her honey-colored complexion and curvy body. She does not know how to dance.
But when she sang, everyone fell silent and the miracle exploded. Her powerful and rich voice, luminous, powerful, fresh and pure, made her nickname "the voice".
Ann Powers of the Los Angeles Times refers to the singer as a "national treasure"
Her albums broke all sales records in the United States and the United Kingdom. Numerous Grammy awards, Golden Globen and topped the list of the Bill Board Magazine on several occasions.
She entered the cinema. Her main film "The body Guard" was seen by millions of filmmloves and the soundtrack was a best seller.
Being in Cuba I remember that the national TV exhibited it for the end of the year. Whitney's performance was good but Kevin Costner's almost ruined the movie, with his fuc... face, permanent he wanted to imitate a real bodyguard. The song Whitney plays almost at the end of the film I Will AlWAYS LOVE YOU was a sales record. Written a few years earlier by country singer Dolly Parton It still remains the most sold song by a female singer of all time. I prefer a theme of the referred film "I HAVE NOTHING" to all others.
In January of 1991, she sang the national anthem of the United States, "The Star Spangled Banner", in the Super Bowl nº XXV (the final of American football) celebrated in Tampa (Florida). This interpretation was later recorded as simple due to popular demand, reaching the number 20 in the United States, being the only version of the American anthem that manages to be a best seller, obtaining the platinum disc. The single also helped raise funds for the American Red Cross for the benefit of Gulf War Veterans and their families.
The artist's representatives confirmed the separation of the Brown-Houston marriage, which subsequently ended in divorce on April 24, 2007, obtaining her custody of her daughter. It is said that the rapper hit her and the beginning in the rite of drugs for which she received several tickets for rehabilitation.
On Thursday, February 9, 2012, Houston met with singers Brandy Norwood and Monica Arnold, along with her producer Clive Davis, to perform their rehearsals for the 2012 Grammy Awards pre-party. That same day, she gave her final performance public, when she joined Kelly Price on stage and sang together "Jesus Loves Me", during the party.
Two days later, on February 11, 2012 Whitney Houston died at the age of 48 in a hotel in Beverly Hills (Los Angeles), initially for unknown reasons

Nació en New Jersey
No sabía bailar.
final del Filme I Will AlWAYS LOVE YOU fue record de ventas. Escrita algunos

MARILYN MONROE: THE GODDESS DIES YOUNG. 4th Part
Marilyn Monroe beauty turned into sensuality and pure femininity appealed to the basics of man: his sexual instinct stronger than ever immemorial impelled procreation.
Owner of an unequaled beauty, very white skin, platinum hair, curvaceous body and molded legs, all she had to do was look at the camera, narrow her eyelids - where the effect of the barbiturates was already wreaking havoc, show the birth of her breasts and overtake a shoulder with a thin strap of her dress to create the rapture.
It was the erotic fantasy of adolescence and youth of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Her iconic face inspired several artists of the 60s and 70s as the famous creator of Pop Art, Andy Warton who immortalized it in a series of serigraphs that were quoted at the price of gold in the New York galleries.
Her early death by overdose of barbiturates gave rise to the legend and myth of the beautiful immortals of the West.
Her death is still controversial. It is that even after death your memory makes hundreds of dollars to the cause of death: suspicions, political conspiracies and I do not know how many things.
What I know is that the simple Marilyn just wanted to die and locked herself in her room and picked up the phone. Actor Lawrence Oliver said she wanted to call God but there was no response.
She starred in several movies where she successfully took advantage of her sex appeal but her quality as an actress was questioned. Although in recent years she took classes in the famous Actor Studio and there she learned acting techniques in the style of the master Stalinasky.
But it was not enough, and her figure was recorded in the subconscious as a sensual woman and whose innocence and frivolity was taken advantage of by others.
Someone said: to be frivolous you have to have a lot of talent.
She sang songs like Diamonds are the girl best friend and she sang to President Kennedy his famous Happy Birthday. That was a scandal for some of her enemigs..
To know more about her biography there are multiple books, with falsehoods, conspiracy theories, of her sad childhood life. Several films about her have tried to interpret the essence of Marilyn but none succeeded.
She died on August 5, 1962 in Los Angeles. Former baseball player Joe De Magio took care of her ashes that rest in a cemetery in the same city with a simple tombstone.
Goddesses always die young. The case of Marilyn Monroe whose image turned into an icon has gained more popularity than ever. Neither Madonna has been able to eclipse it although a video makes of Marilyn dancing, with a similar dress and the jewels that she loved.
Rest easy and may God forgive those who hurt you. You do not have to forgive.
You were pure as your beauty.

MARILYN MONROE: LAS DIOSAS MUEREN JÓVENES. 4ta Parte
MARILYN MONROE:
Descansa tranquila
y que Dios perdone a aquellos que te hicieron daño. Tú no tienes que perdonar,
eras pura como tu belleza.

JANIS JOPLIN: THE GODDESS DIES YOUNG. Third part.
JANIS JOPLIN: THE GODDESS DIES YOUNG. Third part.
When I was 17 or 18 years old I saw on American TV at the US Naval Base in Guantánamo Bay, a young woman with a careless mane who sang a blues and kicked the stage with despair.
With a heartrending, almost masculine voice, she seemed to shout her rage at the world and implore a God who had abandoned her. It was impressive.
Later I found out her name: Janis Joplin and that was a scene from the famous Woodstock festival where other artists like Jimmy Hendrix, Santana, etc. took part. But I stayed with that American Rock and Roll singer and I started looking for data from her.
Janis Joplin was a young woman with a rebellious spirit who considered herself ugly. It was the female symbol of the 60's counterculture. The short life of Janis Joplin left a great legacy not only for music, but also for the female figure, managed to rebel against many stereotypes of the time, spoke openly about the sexual issue and managed to play millions of souls with their songs. We remember the history of this important artist.
In September 1970 he moved to Los Angeles to record the album Pearl, on October 3, 1970 it was a great day of recording in the studio Sunset Sound Recorders, as a celebration she left with a couple of friends to get drunk. On October 4, Janis did not appear in the studio, then the producer Phil Rothchil began to worry, he told John Cooke, administrator and representative of the band, and he went to her house to visit her.
When he entered the room, Janis was lying next toher bed, on the floor. The cause of her death was an overdose of heroin, this episode had happened before, but this time nobody was at her side to help her. It is believed that the artist received a concentration higher than normal, on the other hand they claim that someone gave her the dose on purpose, but the truth is that at 1:45 p.m. from October 4, 1970 Janis Joplin passed away.
Her creative essence, her emotional challenges, addiction to drugs and music as a source of escape made her one of the most outstanding female figures. I was not afraid to say what she thought, do what she wanted and be with who she wanted. She had many sexual partners and never hid from the world how she really felt, she was named as 'The Cosmic Witch' because of her way of performing on stage.
Phrases to remember Janis Joplin
"Freedom is another word to define 'nothing to lose'."
"When I sing, I feel like I'm in love. It's more than sex, it's the point where two people get to what they call love for the first time, multiplied by the whole public. It's gigantic. "
"Being intellectual creates a lot of questions and no response."

THE GODDESS DIES YOUNG: MAMA CASH ELLIOT -Second Part.
Mama Cash Eliot from the set of 60 "the Mamas and the Papas"
Eliot, famous for her sense of humor and optimism, was considered by some to be the most charismatic member of the band; her unmistakable voice was a great contribution to her triumph. She is remembered by her in the classic songs California Dreaming, Monday, Monday and Words of Love, and particularly for the single Dream to Little Dream of Me, Elliot's version is known to be a ballad, while almost all Dream recordings a Little Dream of Me (including one by Nat King Cole), were fast songs. This song had actually been written in 1931 on purpose for the clubs of that time.
They continued recording to fulfill their contractual obligations with the label until their last album was released in 1971. According to the most controversial versions, the abuse of drugs, jealousy, alcoholism and weight problems of Cash Elliot were the triggers of the Subsequent rupture of the group.
On the other hand, the singer wanted to become independent from her classmates to start a brilliant (albeit brief) solo career.
At the height of her solo career in 1974, Cash Elliot made two weeks of sold-out shows at the London Palladium in the United Kingdom. She phoned Michelle Phillips after finishing the concert on July 28, totally euphoric, and told him that she had received big ovations every night. The singer retired to rest later and a few hours later she died while she slept, at the premature age of 32 years. Forensic sources declared that her death was due to a sudden heart attack.
Controversial death
Although the official cause of death was attributed to a devastating heart attack, a repeated urban myth indicated that Elliot died of suffocation by a ham sandwich sandwich. The story began after the discovery of her body and was based on an initial speculation of the media. The police had told the press that they found a half-eaten sandwich in their room and that it could have been the culprit of her death, even though the autopsy had not yet taken place.
However, post mortem examinations concluded that Elliot had actually died from a heart attack, and no food remains were found in her trachea. But the story that he had choked has persisted in years after her death. On the other hand, the doctors did not find traces of the presence of any drug that could cause this cardiac crisis.
Although he was not known to have any major health problems or drug use in the days leading up to the incident, there are several reasons why the singer died so young, including the stress caused by her hectic pace of life, inadequate nutrition and, above all, excessive obesity.
Although some sources claimed that his death was due to a myocardial infarction or heart failure, her official death certificate attributed the fact to a "fatty degeneration of the myocardium due to obesity," a form of steatosis.
Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers quoted The Mamas & the Papas and Elliot, especially as an influence, in an interview for Rolling Stone magazine. He said: "There have been times when I have been very down and misplaced in my life, and the sound of her voice has a kind of sense that has given me a reason to want to move on."
Boy George and Lang also cited her as an influence. George described her as "the greatest white female singer that has ever existed." "Beth Ditto, the singer of the band Gossip, has called Elliot, as an inspiration in both music and fashion, saying:" I really wanted to sound like Mama Cash growing. "
Since her death, Elliot and the circumstances surrounding her have been the target of numerous jokes in comedy routines, movies and songs; by the hand of artists like Frank Zappa, Adam Sandler, Denis Leary, Mike Myers (in his first Austin Powers movie),
In 1999, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame included Cash Elliot and his bandmates from The Mamas and The Papas. In the absence of the singer, her daughter Owen represented her and accepted her posthumous award. By that time, she was the only deceased member, followed later by John Phillips (2001) and then Denny Doherty (2007).
Four years later to the death of Cash, the drummer Keith Moon of The Who would die in the same place and in quite similar circumstances. Not only happened in the same place, 12th floor of 9 Curzon Place, but also in the same bed and at the same age.
Mama Cash Elliot was a sweet-voiced Jewish woman with a good record and that was demonstrated when she separated from Los Mamas and the Papas and started an independent career. Her voice full of matias if lullaby a growing baby, will endure as the singer who still had much to give the world with her talent and charisma, but we all remember her as "the cheerful fat girl who stood out in the group" and we pay little attention to her affectionate voice, sweet and exalted.

Her voice full of matias if lullaby a growing baby, will endure as the singer who still had much to give the world with her talent and charisma, but we all remember her as "the cheerful fat girl who stood out in the group" and we pay little attention to her affectionate voice, sweet and exalted.

MAMA CASH ELLIOT. LAS DIOSAS MUEREN JÓVENES. Segunds Parte.
Mama Cash Eliot del
conjunto delos 60 “the Mamas and the Papas”
California Dreaming, Monday, Monday y
Words of Love, y particularmente por el solo Dream a Little Dream of Me, La
Anthony Kiedis de Red Hot Chili Peppers citaba The Mamas
Elliot y a sus compañeros de banda de The Mamas and The Papas.
John Phillips (2001) y luego Denny Doherty (2007).
similares.
de Los Mamas and the Papas e inició una carrera independiente.

FLOWER OF NAGAPUSHPA. -Last part-
DELMIRA AGUSTINI. FLOWER OF NAGAPUSHPA. -Last part-
The flower of Nagapushpa is very difficult to see since it only flowers once every 36 years. It is also a plant that is not found in many places in the world. Flowers on a lake in the mountains of the Himalayas.
Recently I came from Cuba many years ago and working in a family hotel where I was living in Punta del Este, a wealthy widow lonely client who was twice my age and who talked a lot with me, began to deliver a letter each morning. When I opened it, when I got tired of work, I opened the letter and a smell of Jasmine impregnated the entire page with poems by Delmira Agustini. I kept them and left them to read at another time. So they slept in my book drawers until their moment came to them years later: like a rose in its cocoon awaiting the light to open its petals, so Delmira Agustini waited to captivate me with her verses.
Delmira Agustini beautiful woman, with quiet blue eyes, walking slowly, deep in her thoughts but with a heart of pure lava that no man could possess.
It was a poet of Latin American modernism who corresponded with Rubén Darío and whose erotic, sensual, sometimes somewhat sapphic poetry scandalized the pacata society of the time.
It reminds me of Greta Garbo in The Ladies of the Camellias, who between the rustle of the silks of her black dress adhered her pelvis to the pelvis of the beau, pushed her glorious bust out of the man's chest and turned her neck with her divine face away from a possible kiss that predicted that it was approaching. Then she spoke, with her hands holding the men of the lover of "being free when death approached." He suffered from a galloping Tisis.
Or the Carmen de Prospere Merimet who allowed herself to be stabbed by an old officer who had been her lover and die with the pride of a woman, proud and passionate but with a free heart like that of Delmira Agustini.
Or Virginia Wolf the English writer of schizoid mind, who listened to voices while her pen slipped and slipped leaf after leaf, into writings while cigarret after cigarret were in her lips.
She revolutionized English writing. The film "The Houres", touching and tragic, presents the last moments of his life when placing stones in her pockets she enters a river until she drowns.
Her writings remain, where she plays with time and an almost Freudian introspection where there is no lack of lesbian allusions.
Delmira Agustini belonged to a well-to-do family, descendant of Germans, French and porteños. All of them overprotected that poetic vocation with which they scandalized the bourgeois River Plate society. In her childhood she studied French, music and painting.
Her life and personality are full of enigmas and contradictions. In his short life she had a terrible sentimental vicissitude that caused her tragic death at 27 years of age: her marriage to Enrique Reyes, the subsequent separation and murder at the hands of her ex-husband.
After her disappearanced was born a myth that challenges essayists and biographers and is still valid in countless versions.
It was a pioneer of feminism, the mistreatment of women, in favor of divorce.
But she did not talk about the harpy, imposing and bossy women who castrate a weak husband and make him impotent. This will make me many comments from feminists. I am not in favor of female abuse by men with altered psyche, exacerbated machismo or rampant alcoholism that end up murdering their wives. But I also want to contribute to the other side of the coin.
Delmira's poetry is a burning flower and for me one of the best poetesses in America that we stole in Cuba in literature classes.
A verse from her passionate poems:
Fire accounts
Close the accomplice door with a rumor of caress,
defoliate the lily of a vein towards evil
-Silk is a sin, the nude is celestial;
and it is a soft body, a couch of delight.
Open arms ... so every being is winged;
or a warm lira sweetly rendered
of singing and silence ... later, in the ice cream
beyond a mirror, like a sloping lake
see the Olympic beast that makes life ...
On July 6, 1914, shots were heard in a room in the center of Montevideo, more precisely in the Andes 1206, the body of Delmira lay lifeless beside that of her husband, Enrique Job Reyes. Today, as we pass that corner, we see a rosebush and a tile as a plaque, which pays homage to the poet, and also reminds us that the presence of domestic violence, unfortunately, continues to this day.

THE GODDESS DIES YOUNG: SINGERS. First part
BILLIE HOLLIDAY
Billie turned her unhappiness into songs that make the rest of mortals happy. Owner of a voice of peculiar timbre and poor technique but full of feeling, she became the undisputed queen of jazz.
The mere mention of her name evokes in us the image of the black jazz singer, of prodigious voice and turbulent life. It is enough for us to close our eyes and sing one of their moving interpretations to go into ecstasy.
Her heartbreaking and somewhat harsh voice reminded me in my adolescence, with the old records that my mother treasured, the image of the black woman who suffered in the depths of her soul a pain that only God could mitigate in heaven.
Raped at 10 years and working making beds and cleaning toilets in old brothels was outlined in front of the jukebox following the songs of Louis Angstrom and Duke Ellington. Then she was discovered by a music promoter who launched her to stardom.
But hers voice had the heartrending timbre of a desperate black woman who did not know true love.
Invaded by drugs and alcohol, she was imprisoned several times by drunk and drug addict and hospitalized.
The last song I heard from her "Can not take my eyes over you", already here in Uruguay, her voice, already without strength and tamed by alcohol, hardly distinguished from her songs when she was younger.
Lady Blues, as she was called, died of cirrhosis in hospital in 1959 at the age of 44, along with her dog, the only being that accompanied her.
Her husky voice is a sad song like a prayer to a Spiritual Creature to rescue her from her inner demons.

FIDEL CASTRO-THE VICTIMS
FIDEL CASTRO: THE VICTIMS.
Starting when I was a child and the revolution triumphed, Fidel and his henchmen shot thousands of Batista in unsubstantiated trials where only the pointing of the witnesses with a wave of the hand was missing, and without hesitation, they went straight to the wall.
After a famous case that still remains in the mystery: the death of Camilo Cienfuegos in a supposed air accident whose remains of the aircraft were never found. There is a story that when Camilo returned I think that from Camagüey after a discussion with Huber Matos, he returns to Havana and he poses the reasoning of Huber to the Castro and Vilma Espín. Result: when the discussion was at its height Vilma took out her pistol and shot death to good Camilo, deceived by the path Castro took towards the communist.
Since then he became a hero and forced the children to throw a flower in memory of Camilo, which Fidel continued to do with his later victims. And I was crazy to join the parade with my other first grade classmates but my dad, firm, would not let me.
Eduardo Dorticos was also shot in the head, a puppet president who Fidel placed before the people, deceiving him before establishing the communist regime.
Then it was the turn of Aidee Santamaría, left aside and relaxed to silence and who discreetly supported the new artists like the singer Pablo Milanes and others. She shots her head.
What Che Guevara. It is not known if it was the Argentine commander's decision to take the revolution to other Latin American towns or if Castro encouraged him, with his intelligent Machiavellian manipulation, to take it out of the way. We even read the last letter of Che addressed to Fidel in each school -we did not understand anything- and in other areas.
The fallen in Angola and Ethiopia is an example of the bloodthirsty spirit and savior of the oppressed as they wanted to be remembered. Years later, when his adventures in Africa were over, he made well-uniformed militiamen with brave faces march with the aluminum boxes in their arms and some coffins in cars with Cuban flags. If this is not direct interference in the internal affairs of other countries that Castro, Chávez and Maduro both proclaimed and asked, I do not understand anything about politics.
I was in the maritime city of Baracoa north of Guantanamo and I told my wife to see the parade where I did not participate but it blocked the traffic of my car: - Instead of the phrase "glory for the internationalists" I should teach you a fist of insult-as used in the USA-and throw an expletive at the crowd that participated as sheep to that show.
The last death by suicide was the Fidelito, son of Castro's first marriage, depressed, without power, eliminated his self-esteem by a father who did not show love towards his children, Fidelito went quietly. The news was just a comment on the Cuban newscast. They did not want the people to ask themselves: Why?
The son of Dr. Hilda Molina, asylum in Argentina, with his wife of the same nationality gave an interview on the program of the Diva Susana Giménez. He had a nervous twitch on his eyelids, a trembling voice and hesitated all the time. This is due to the fear of the Cuban KGB and the trauma of the Cuban exile who has his own mother confined at home in Havana, only in the company of the Church and the Virgin of Charity of the Copper.
The same Hilda Molina last Sunday gave an interview to CNN driver Longobardi. An old wrinkled woman was appreciated but with solid and intelligent arguments, but with a cascading and trembling voice. She said that she had made the profile of Fidel Castro while in Cuba and that she had been able to get the notebooks out of the country when finally in the Rauliana era they freed her to join her son and grandson.
She said that Fidel was a psychotic-sociopath, intelligent and soulless and manipulative. If he had done good with that intelligence, Cuba would be one of the most important countries in the world. And that he used this throughout his life as we were slaves.
The case of Ochoa and his three companions was an example of how he cleaned his face to present himself to the world as if the Castro brothers had nothing to do with drug trafficking. For the accusation he used the full state council, which full of fear, condemned the accused to death. Then he awarded the accusing prosecutor, devouring raptor, with a position in the congress, until years later he ended up excusing himself from public life, apparently regretting how they had used him.
Castro absorbed the vital energy of his subordinates like a legendary vampire who takes the blood of his victims and then, when they had faithfully served him for a time, beheaded them and sent them to a distant place on the island, no longer with peace or pride. man, head down and silenced forever.
This afternoon I was going to the Hospital's lab to look for an analysis of Glicemia-Hemoglobi because of my insulin-dependent diabetes and suddenly I saw an old man with Fidel's features, his gray beard, the Galician profile and against, an olive green cap. I thought that I was hallucinating in a precocious senile dementia or that it was the ghost of Fidel that was chasing me. I reacted and shouted for everyone to hear:
- FIDEL CASTRO? SOLAVAYA!
- No problem, the old man replied. The old man disappeared into one of the detention rooms.

SINGER GLORIA STEFAN AND MARIELA CASTRO ESPIN
GLORIA STEFAN AND MARIELA CASTRO ESPIN
The daughter of Raul Castro, a member of the Cuban parliament, said on Cuban national TV yesterday that Gloria would not succeed as a singer in Cuba, because "she does not have sandunga"
Wounded by Stefan's statements that he would not sing in Cuba while it was not free, the town had the same right as foreign tourists and less in front of the Che Guevara sculpture.
Let me tell you that when we were in Cuba we exchanged Gloria's cassettes to listen to her on birthdays, weddings or bithday of 15 of the young people.
I think Mariela is based on the racial prejudices that still survive in Cuba where the Afro-descendant population tends more to enjoy the music "sandunguera" and this is nothing but bottled racism because Gloria loves everyone to dance and listen. His song "Conga" made half the world dance.
She can talk what she wants because there is no one to reply to her- Ahh, it's the president's daughter behind the scenes.
My mother when she came to Uruguay on vacation, one of the first things she asked me -Get me a CD from Celia Cruz, - and my mother is the daughter of emigrant Galicians and in so many decades of Revolution she had not forgotten the Guarachera de Cuba that always she denied returning to Cuba in her exile.
Mariela Castro was wrong in her statement about Gloria which has helped to spread the Cuban rhythms around the world more successfully than any Cuban singer on the island. Silvio Rodríguez, Cuba's official singer will have Sandunga.
She knows nothing about music or Cuban roots for an emigrant. She only sits in his office to present herself as a new face initiator of cultural and social changes.
Shut up Mariela and leave another Cuban more exalted than you to sing to the world: "My land and Cuba libre".
As one of her songs says:
-The earth hurts you!
Because you are not really interested and you are divorced from the experiences of the Cuban people.

LAS DIOSAS MUEREN JÓVENES: CANTANTES. Primera Parte
BILLIE HOLLIDAY
prodigiosa voz y turbulenta vida.
escuche de ella “Can’t take my eyes over you”, ya aquí en el Uruguay, su voz,

GLORIA STEFAN Y MARIELA CASTRO ESPIN
GLORIA STEFAN Y MARIELA CASTRO ESPIN

Me recuerda a Greta
No estoy
-La seda es un pecado, el desnudo es celeste;
Abrir brazos…así todo ser es alado;
esposo, Enrique Job Reyes.

impresionar a mis demás compañeros
Llosa. Tenía 24 horas para leer el libro secreto. Era la historia de un
guerrillero homosexual y su subalterno joven. Estaban enamorados. No había sexo
