El actor Willem Dafoe se pronuncia contra la industria del cine WOKE.
"Ya no se hacen películas como antes. Están siendo financiadas por compañías de juguetes y otras entidades, y se convierten en el vehículo para hacer las películas... El streaming se está convirtiendo en un monopolio, tienen los medios de producción y distribución. Así que es muy complicado".
"Las películas más difíciles, más desafiantes" no suelen funcionar bien en las plataformas de streaming porque la mayoría de los abonados sólo quieren irse a casa y "ver algo estúpido".
"El tipo de atención que la gente presta en casa no es la misma", afirma Dafoe. "Las películas más difíciles, más desafiantes, pueden no funcionar tan bien cuando no tienes un público que realmente preste atención. Eso es muy importante. Echo de menos el aspecto social de dónde encajan las películas en el mundo. Vas a ver una película, sales a cenar, hablas de ella más tarde, y eso se extiende. Ahora la gente se va a casa, dice: 'Oye, cariño, vamos a ver algo estúpido esta noche', hojean y ven cinco minutos de diez películas, y dicen: 'Olvídalo, vámonos a la cama".

"The type of care people give at home is not the same," Dafoe says. "The most difficult, most challenging movies may not work as well when you don't have an audience that's really paying attention. That's very important. I miss the social aspect of where movies fit in the world. You go see a movie, You go out to dinner, you talk about it later, and that spreads. Now people go home, say, 'Hey, honey, we're going to watch something stupid tonight,' and they flip through and watch five minutes of ten movies, and they say : 'Forget it, let's go to bed.'
