Antes y despues de dirigir la Clinica del dolor,para una clase media alta,el Dr Orlando Vicente muchos dias se ponia corbata y bata blanca ,tomaba uno o dos buses,recorria unas cuadras barrosas que eran zona de riesgo y ahora son mas,un poco asegurado a su maletin de medico,y atendia hasta sesenta pacientes diarios,pobres,con tarjeta de asistencia social,en un vecindario de Montevideo,cercano a La Teja y al Cerro.No era muy sencillo esperar el colectivo,a veces en una parada desolada. Gente con o sin trabajo estable,simpatica,conversadora,que casi no colaboraba ni con monedas en la latita de la policlinica solidaria y fraterna.Con muchas y diversas dolencias,muchas nutritivas .Era preferido.Quiza atraidos por su acento extrangero,creo que aun no tenia nacionalidad uruguaya... Recordaba asi su etapa en el hospital de Chinandega,ciertas similitudes habia. Casi no veia al Padre Telechea,si a las monjas,muy amables,que le traian te,y en especial a una,italiana,que lo apoyaba y que la extraño mucho cuando se fue para Roma,...no recuerdo su nombre. Orlando no lo hacia por la institucion,creo,ni por la virgen del cobre,sino por fe en el Altisimo,vocacion en la Medicina social y su propia situacion historica de inmigrante,casi refugiado espiritual. Soy admirador de la literatura fuerte y lacerante de Orlando Vicente VOLVER A GUANTANAMO,BACK TO G,------Soy admirador de la literatura fuerte y lacerante de Orlando Vicente,como lo soy admirador de Leopardi,Vallejo y Gelman,sobre todo la que engendro despues del estado de coma,tan largo y demoledor como la muerte.Sin embargo este breve fragmento,escrito unos dos años antes del coma,me conmueve intimamente.Es que el tema de Volver,al pasado geografico,es siempre un imposible.No existe el lugar de la nostalgia,ya fue,desaparecio ,siempre el paraiso que vivimos es irrecuperable-
