ASI ERA EL FRENTE AMPLIO DE MI JUVENTUD
1 - Los dirigentes eran reconocidos profesionales universitarios o militares de carrera con conductas intachables
2 - Ni los tupamaros ni el MPP formaban parte del Frente Amplio
3 - El Partido Comunista siempre rompía los huevos con sus intereses pero se le controlaba con las mayorías restantes
4 - El Presidente era el General Líber Seregni que estuvo casi once años preso y salió sin una gota de odio y más intachable que nunca pidiendo que trabajáramos junto a los militares, los blancos y los colorados y dejáramos el odio de lado
5 - Los fundadores fueron 14 partidos y hubo figuras descollantes de la política como Zelmar Michelini, Hugo Batalla, Alba Roballo, el Dr. Crotoggini, el Gral. Licandro, el Dr. Villar, el Cr. Juan Young, y bueno... también había otros, pero ni parecidos a los de ahora.
6 - Era considerada una fuerza de Centro Izquierda (no de ultraizquierda como el FAPIT) y la CNT no influía en las decisiones
7 - No apoyó JAMÁS el Golpe de Estado, quien sí lo hizo fue el Partido Comunista POR SU CUENTA
8 - Cuando los militares abrieron la puerta a la democracia, su Presidente no DUDÓ JAMÁS en dejar de lado sus intereses de ser Presidente por el bien de la salida democrática y aceptó la salida a las elecciones
9 - Ese Presidente se enfrentó en cámaras al gran Wilson Ferreira Aldunate en una guerra de ideas sin perder jamás la amabilidad y el respeto por su rival y compañero de lucha contra la dictadura en un debate para la posteridad.
10 - Los Comités de Base se llenaban de gente trabajando por los vecinos y llegaban dirigentes siempre a colaborar con los militantes
11 - No se repartían ni chorizos ni porritos. Solo mate y algún cigarrillo La Paz sin filtro y hablabamos de ideales, no de repartijas, ni acomodos ni coimas

15 - Los socialistas ayudaban a los del PDC y los de la 99 a pintar sus banderas y salían todos juntos. Los comunistas no. Ellos siempre se cortaban solos
16 - No teníamos odio ni resentimiento con nadie. Solo el deseo de ser libres y trabajar juntos con un mejor salario.
17 - Nuestro cerebro en Economía era un Contador que fue el Rector más joven de la Universidad, no un barbudo desprolijo que no se baña ni muestra el diploma
18 - A los ladrones y rapiñeros les dábamos palo y piña, no protección y droga
19 - A los violetas o abusadores nosotros mismos les dábamos la paliza (salvo entre los comunistas, donde la fiestita siempre era la orden del día)
20 - Teníamos verdadero espíritu democrático, no esta farsa comunista tupamara de hoy. Por eso nos abrazamos a nuestros rivales en el "Gran río de libertad" en el Obelisco
21 - Era tan enorme NUESTRO GRAL SEREGNI que cuando vio que los tupamaros, ayudados por los comunistas y la incipiente y deplorable figura de Tabaré Vázquez estaban corrompiendo el Partido, en la cara de todos renunció a la Presidencia y se fue. SIN UNA SOLA MANCHA. Y lejos de asesinos y traidores. Y ese fue el final del Frente Amplio. Lo que vino después, lo seguimos sufriendo.
